Old house, needs a lick of paint but rooms are warm and the street quiet, even on a Saturday. What more do you expect for the money? Stop complaining and enjoy your stay in Edinburgh!

Nice room in a great location for people on a budget. Bedroom to bathroom ratio slightly high (one bathroom for 2 floors) but didn't have a problem getting showered when I needed to. Would recommend if you're on a budget.

We stayed in the room for three and it was great. The rooms were clean, the staff were really friendly, the beds were comfortable, we had no trouble getting in or checking out and were given all the information we needed. It was a really good price as well, especially considering the location. It's a nice little walk into the city centre from there and there's also a regular bus. My mother and I both said we would definitely stay again.

shower had no hanger for the shower head, and the heater would work inconsistently, though different settings were adjusted. on the evening of the second night there was only a quarter replacement roll of toilet tissue. the kitchen wasn't available to use, though I thought it was included in the description.needs we're singles pushed together, and construction on the front facade, though commenced after 10 am.everything appeared clean, and Mary the staff was cheerful and helpful. location was good.

Our room was fine, but very basic, especially the toilet and shower which was tiny. The location wasexcellent and, given the price, the room was good value for money, I'd choose it again for another visit to Edinburgh.

The Guesthouse was a good location - just a 30 minute walk into the centre and to Fringe festivities. It had all the amenities it promised and felt secure. My only fault was that the cleaning standard was not quite as high as I would have expected - not terrible, but not great either!

I read a few reviews that were bad about this place but after staying here for 2 nights i didnt think it was too bad.i never had any problems or heard anything from the other guests. Our room was clean enough. If your saying longer than 2 days then i would get a hotel but if you are wanting just a cheap room for a couple of nights to lay your head down then i would say this place was fine.

We were heartily welcomed by Allan, who was so nice to provide us with a parking space for the motorbike. The place is clean and complete, and is less shabby than it may appear at first sight. We especially liked the high ceilings and location, which is walking distance from the main tourist attractions. And a fair price too.

If you're looking for a budget place to stay in Edinburgh, Gilmore will suit you fine. Nice and friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed, quiet neighbourhood, I slept all through the night without any disturbance. The bathroom is in the corridor and the rooms are equipped with bunk beds. If this is not something you like, then you need to find another place to stay. The bed was comfortable and the shared bathroom was clean and no queuing. Nice and comfy for a budget night!

Stayed for two nights and really liked this guesthouse. The owner is warm and friendly. Clean nice room. We shared bathroom with a couple of other rooms but it was no problem. We would recommend this guesthouse to others and would not hesitate to go back.

Very clean room and check-in was fast and efficient. The land lady was very helpful. The rooms, bed lined were clean. A minus is the shared toilet with shower.Plus ponts are central location.

Well it was good and satisfying stay in Gilmore and defiantly we will be looking forward to stay there again with these economical prices.Suggestion:if possible, there may be shower arrangements in rooms. and breakfast menu can be there (only prices are there but not menu items)
